UA&P CORE and EastWest Bank’s Risk Officers Development Program

UA&P CORE (Continuing Real-World Education) proudly highlights the successful implementation of the Risk Officers Development Program (RODP), a comprehensive initiative designed in collaboration with EastWest Bank. This program, which ran from June to December 2023, exemplifies CORE’s dedication to delivering tailored and impactful learning solutions for organizations.

A Tailored Approach to Risk Management Training

The RODP was meticulously crafted to address the specific needs of risk management professionals in the banking industry. Spanning 272 hours of training across nine thoughtfully developed modules, the program provided a robust foundation for participants to strengthen their expertise.

The curriculum covered a wide range of critical topics, including:

  • Economics for the Banking Industry
  • Banking Products and Services
  • Risk Management Frameworks and Principles
  • Credit Risk Management
  • Operational and Reputational Risk Management
  • Basel Accords
  • Risk-Adjusted Performance Management

This extensive lineup ensured that participants gained both theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential to navigating the complex landscape of risk management.

A Progressive Learning Journey

To facilitate a structured learning experience, the program was divided into three clusters:

  1. Introduction to the Banking Industry – foundational knowledge vital for professionals in the field.
  2. Foundations of Risk Management – essential principles and methodologies for effective risk mitigation.
  3. Risk Specializations and Integration – advanced topics and their application to real-world scenarios.

Interactive and Engaging Delivery

Participants engaged in a dynamic mix of lectures, case studies, and simulation activities, supported by CORE’s advanced learning management platform, Canvas. Each module was accompanied by high-quality resources, including presentations, reference materials, and assessments, ensuring a well-rounded learning experience.

To cap off each cluster, revalida sessions were held—rigorous panel evaluations where participants demonstrated their learnings and received valuable feedback from experts.

Empowering Organizational Growth

The RODP enabled participants to enhance their capabilities in risk identification, measurement, control, and monitoring. By aligning the program’s curriculum with international standards such as the Financial Risk Manager (FRM) Certification, it also provided a stepping stone for professionals aspiring for global recognition.

A Benchmark for Corporate Learning Programs

The collaboration between UA&P CORE and EastWest Bank underscores the value of tailored corporate education in achieving organizational success. The RODP stands as a testament to CORE’s ability to design and deliver transformative training solutions that address real-world challenges.
